The US has more than 360 million people. Old infrastructure. Coal-fired powerplants supply most of the inhabitants. The problem is that drastically cutting energy resources is beyond the means of solar and wind to compensate. It requires fleets of nuclear reactors in the electric divisions just to keep the noses above the water line. The US is a hurricane-, tornado-, and earthquake-prone nation that is not currently (infrastructural-wise) situated for the drastic removal of coal-based energy. The reason the government cannot truncate the nation's old energy is due to millions of people's energy needs, they simply consume too much energy. The nation gets very cold, but it also gets very hot, which presents a challenge for utilities to meet the demands of the hundreds of millions of people that depend on them to provide. The government has technology to circumvent these issues, but due to the totality of job losses and economic ruin, they keep it up. What is the use of a clean, normal climate if most of the people are then placed in economic misery and poverty? Because destroying the enormous energy supply chains would do just that.

Climate change is happening but it is a natural cicle that happens every 12000 years. 0.05% of atmosphere is CO2 If the amount goes lower than 0.02% life as we know on this planet will die. 0.05% Is nothing.
